OK, so feel free to write whatever seems appropriate in here... But at the risk of looking like a narcissist and/or an intelligence agent, I\\\'m seeking
anecdotes from you of a certain kind. I\\\'m slowly working on a “stories from the road” book, basically vignettes from my life, a good bit of which I\\\'ve spent
traveling and singing. I find a lot of my memory is quite vague, though, and it occurred to me that enlisting you to help me out could not only be really useful but also
potentially really fun and interesting. My friend Jim called it a sort of Wiki Blog. So whether you feel inspired to just write a sentence or two or a 4,000-word essay,
here are the sorts of tales I\\\'d particularly like to hear about:
Have you been to a concert of mine? Where was it and (at least approximately) when? Have you been to more than one? Whether this was last week
or fifteen years ago, what sticks with you about it (or them)? Have you been to a protest, festival, conference or other event at which I was singing? What kind
of event was it, and what were the highlights of the event for you (whether or not that involved me at all)? Did we smoke a joint, have a conversation or
some other kind of experience that you wouldn\\\'t mind sharing about? Did we live in the same town at the same time growing up or as adults?
Did we travel or play music together? Were we fellow buskers on the streets of Boston or Seattle or elsewhere at some point? Did we go to school together?
What sticks out for you about any of those times and places? When and under what circumstances did you first hear my music or read something I wrote?
You get the idea...
Thanks very much for your contribution, large or small, to fleshing out and reconstructing any of that (or anything else that seems relevant)! If you\\\'d prefer
to email me privately rather than posting your recollections here, feel free to email me at drovics@gmail.com with “memory project” in the subject line.
